Dr. Lauren Steiner

Veterinarian

Dr. Lauren Steiner first found her passion for veterinary medicine while working at an animal shelter in Summit County, Colorado. She loved working for animals in need and helping them find a new loving family. Vet school was the obvious next step in her life. She attended CU Boulder for general undergraduate studies and then attended CSU for her veterinary prerequisites.

Graduating from Oklahoma State University with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2016, Dr. Steiner then came back to practice medicine in Colorado. Since vet school, she has worked in general practice while volunteering at humane societies when possible.

After working in general practice for many years, she has decided her heart is with rescue animals and helping people in need care for their pets. She decided it was time to start an adventure of her own, and open a lower cost facility to help these target populations.  Partnering with our friends at The Dog Ranch, we were able to open a surgery clinic within their impressively large boarding facility. This also makes us available to be of assistance any medical emergencies that may arise while dogs are boarding or at daycare.

Her spare time is mainly spent with her young son, Owen. They have a German shepherd mix named Murphy and two recently acquired chihuahuas (Jojo and Pita) adopted from rescue organizations we work with. They all adore the outdoors and are often camping, hiking or riding their bikes. Although the chihuahuas have proven to not be huge fans of snow and cold...

Laura recently moved from Texas to begin a new journey in Colorado. Her love for working with animals started with her first job at a boarding facility. Through this job she was introduced to the rescue world. She became heavily involved in the adoption process and helped animals find their forever homes. She also began fostering animals, but quickly became a foster failure soon after. She's excited to have the opportunity to help the community by working with both local rescues and current pet owners. Laura has 3 dogs, Whitney, Izzy, and Maggie, and two cats, Layla and Aubrey, who keep her busy. When she’s not at the clinic, she spends her time hiking and exploring new places in Colorado with her significant other, Joseph.
